Will you be my hourglass?

With the breaking of the dawn
On a table in my lawn
Watching the time drown
Then flip you upside down

As the hours pass.
Will you be my hourglass?

I know you are mocking me
Telling me I am not free
Yet, these shackles are so poetic
Turning me into a masochist

The way you harass.
Will you be my hourglass?

I watch me in your hollow
As you pour the time you swallow
Me under the layer of grime
Trying to catch the sand and climb

A vicious Mirage.
Will you be my hourglass?

Will I be before the dusk?
Break you in pieces and crush
Or with the setting Sun
You’ll still be watching me burn

Someday, Alas!
Will you be my hourglass?
